
The Camera Club of New York, conveniently located at 336 37th street between 8th and 9th avenues, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Members can sign up for three 4-hour sessions of darkroom time weekly, and can also use a fully equipped studio for a small fee. Working with negatives up to 4 X 5, members can print photographs up to 20×24 inches.
Facilities include:
- Five well equipped black & white and color darkrooms
- Fully equipped studio with strobe unit, modeling lights, umbrellas, tripods
- Access to the facilities 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- Easels, printing trays, paper cutters, grain focusers
- Drying cabinet for film and racks for prints
- Conference area
- Color Processor: Colex 32″ wide. Print capacity up to 30″ x 40″
- Lockers
- High speed internet access
- Gallery with rotating shows
We also have an ongoing lecture series at The School of Visual Arts
Other essentials: All other photographic accessories such as tray, tanks, easels, etc… are available for use by all members at no additional cost.
